After

Patient Presentation and examination:

Personal information and relevant history: 8-year-old female

Routine radiographic examination: Small radiolucencies on the mesial surface of #K and distal surface of #L. (Figure 1).

Diagnosis: Based on the radiographic examination, the diagnosis was as follows:

#K (mesial): Early caries extending to the inner half of the enamel (E2)

#L (distal): Early caries extending to the inner half of enamel (E2)

Treatment:

  • The lesions were treated with one application of Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus
  • Oral hygiene instructions were reinforced.

Follow-up: At the 13-month follow up, the following observation was made: (Figure 2)

#K, #L: Reduction in the sizes of lesions

Take-away: Patients at a high caries risk require regular recalls for early diagnosis of caries so as to enable early intervention with non-invasive solutions. Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus, along with its tasteless, non-staining formulation, makes it well-received by children.
